Clinic Policies

What WE will be doing to keep everyone safe

We are implementing the following temporary procedures to ensure that we are adhering to the CDC recommendations for sanitation and social distancing:

  1. We are only accepting three appointments an hour to limit exposure.

  2. We will be available strictly by appointment only in order to mitigate exposure.

  3. We will pre-screen the of staff for symptoms at the beginning of each day.

  4. All doorbells, chair handles, equipment, and horizontal surfaces within 6 feet of each patient station are wiped down after every patient visit. Any of our linens touched by a patient will be changed immediately.

  5. Staff will be washing/sanitizing hands before and after every patient interaction.

  6. Staff will be wearing surgical masks.

  7. Caroline will be wearing scrubs and a surgical cap.

  8. Caroline might ask you to choose a certain chair or table to insure the best possible social distancing.

  9. We will be changing the clinic layout so everything can be more easily wiped down after each patient.

  10. You will be asked to stay behind the white taped lines in the community room to promote social distancing.

  11. Three medical-grade HEPA air purifying systems will be running constantly in the clinic.

  12. We will be screening each patient in advance of treatment for symptoms of COVID19.

  13. If you are immunocompromised or are in a high-risk group, please contact Caroline to be seen in the back office or outside of normal clinic hours.

COVID Financial Policies

  1. Because we have being forced to shoulder additional expenses and because we can only see less than our normal patient load, we are asking you to pay at least $40 on the sliding scale, if you possibly can. If this is a hardship, let us know and we will make an accommodation for you.

  2. During the pandemic, we are asking you to pay in advance via credit card through our store website if you possibly can: If you will be paying cash or check, give your completed check or exact change directly to Caroline or EJ at the time of your treatment. If you need herbs of if you are using a credit/gift card balance, please contact Caroline/EJ in advance.

  3.  All existing credits and pre-purchased gift cards will be used at the $30 rate.

  4. All pre-payments that cannot be used for whatever reason will be credited to the patient's account or refunded minus transaction fees.

Patient Expectations

What YOU will do to keep everyone safe:

  1. Payment If you are paying by credit card, you will may in advance of your treatment: You may also pay in person with a credit card. If you will be paying cash or check, you will give that directly to Caroline or EJ. If you are using a credit or pre-purchased gift card, please let Caroline know a day ahead of time. All existing credits, pre-purchased gift cards will be used at the $30 rate.

  2. COVID Waiver: You will be required to complete a COVID waiver before your tratment. It asks a series of screening questions for COVID19 symptoms. If you have COVID19 or the symptoms of it, Caroline cannot treat you. Please contact your PCP or urgent care for instructions and care. If you can show us a negative COVID19  test that was performed within 24 hours of your symptoms, you may keep your appointment.

Have you travelled in the past 14 days?

  3. New Patients If you are a new patient, you will need to fill out your paperwork ahead of time. If you don’t have a printer at home, you can get arrange to pick up paperwork ahead of time. You can text us and we will get the paperwork to you to fill out in your car.

  4. You will wear a mask over your nose and mouth during your entire visit, unless I otherwise instruct you. When I say mask I don’t mean a bandana tied around our face or a stretchy face warmer! If you fail to bring a mask, one with be provided for you.

  5. You will bring a CLEAN, freshly laundered sheet with you. Please also bring your favorite blanket if you need extra warmth. You will put the sheet over the entire surface of the chair or table on which you will be treated. That includes the top of the chair and the arms of the chair. We recommend you take that sheet home and throw it in the washing machine immediately. Warm water and soap is enough to denature the virus on cloth and clothing.

  6. Your car is our waiting room. We are not allowing more than one person or family in the front office at a time. We ask that anyone who is not a patient remain outside the clinic or in your car. ABSOLUTELY NO CHILDREN IN THE WAITING ROOM.

  7. Upon arrival, peek into the reception area. If the reception area is clear of people, come on in, otherwise, wait a few minutes and try again.

  8. Temperature check Your temperature will be taken has been ordered. Every patient will have their temperature with a  “no touch” thermometer upon arrival. If you have a temperature of 100.4 or above on our thermometer we will not be able to see you. You will be sent home and encouraged to contact your PCP or urgent care for instructions and care.

    1. immediately upon arrival. There will be sanitizer right there at the front desk.

    2. immediately after using the restroom.

    3. immediately after leaving the community room.

    4. immediately after coughing or sneezing into your hand.

  10. You will cover your coughs and sneezes in your elbow or using a tissue. You will dispose of said tissue into the trash. If you cough/sneeze into your hand, you will WASH or SANITIZE your hands immediately.

  11. You will leave directly after your treatment. No loitering.

High Risk Groups

Am I in a high risk group? Based on what we know now, those at high-risk for severe illness from COVID-19 are:

  • People aged 65 years and older

  • People who live in a nursing home or long-term care facility

  • People of all ages with underlying medical conditions, particularly if not well controlled, including:

    • People with chronic lung disease or moderate to severe asthma

    • People who have serious heart conditions

    • People who are immunocompromised - Many conditions can cause a person to be immunocompromised, including cancer treatment, smoking, bone marrow or organ transplantation, immune deficiencies, poorly controlled HIV or AIDS, and prolonged use of corticosteroids and other immune weakening medications. •

  • People with severe obesity (body mass index [BMI] of 40 or higher)

  • People with diabetes

  • People with chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis

  • People with liver disease

If you have any of these risk factors, you are still safest at home. Use your own best judgement. If you don't feel safe coming out, don't do it. Just because some folks are venturing out, that doesn't mean your should feel pressure to do so. I am only opening back up because the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies has authorized me to do so with all these extra safeguards in place. You're going to be one heck of a lot safer in my clinic than at the grocery store or hardware store!

Hey wow! You made it to the end of all that verbiage! Good for you! Gold Star! See our "normal" homepage here.
